In Kinesiology and Traditional Chinese Medicine, we have a range of points to clear brain fog and confusion. The two most important of these points, are known as ‘Primary Brain Points’. They deal with confusion, stress and spatial disorientation, AKA brain fog.
Important points to target for reducing brain fog
Governing Vessel 20 (GV20) and Governing Vessel 24 (GV24) are both located on the head.
GV20 is the highest point on the body. It is said that the spirit enters this point at conception and leaves via this point at death. It is the key point for mind/brain/spirit integration, as well as heart/brain connection point.
This point relates to higher order thinking; connects with the brain survival centres (limbic and brain stem) and coordination of function.
GV24 is the concrete reasoning aspect of brain function. It is located near the frontal cortex and links to the reasoning centres of the physical brain.
It is an important point for reasoning through emotional stress and thus relates partly to the reasoning-emotion connections within the brain. When you find yourself lost in the emotionality of a situation, unable to think your way out, utilise this point.
Both of these points are extremely potent for improving all types of brain function including coordination, movement, thinking, reading, speaking and balance.
Next time you’re overwhelmed and can’t sift through the emotions or if you would like to improve your brain function and reduce brain fog, lightly hold both of these points. Start with holding these points for 5 minutes per day for a week and see how you go.
